Getting To Know You, Getting To Know All About…Well, Me.

Hey Friends!

Welcome back to the Pizza & Pigtails Blog. As you can see, I’m still catching up with my previous content and getting the block fully set up. I thought this was an important one to post, as you guys take the time to come here and read all of my ramblings, I’ve never fully introduced myself.

So, let’s get to know each other, shall we? - Here are a few fun facts about me!

First and foremost…I’m a Mom. I have one of the coolest kids you could ever meet, and I know every parent says that, but I mean it! She’s a firecracker, intelligent, funny, silly, caring, creative, talented, artistic, loving, and nerdy…like me. She’s my favorite person in this whole wide world!

Second fun fact about me: I’m a writer.

While my first passion is performing, my second is writing!
I have two published novels under my belt - with many more to come, I have written two scripts - still just sitting on my computer because I’m so nervous to shop them anywhere, I’ve written many poems, songs, and random short stories. I’ve always loved telling stories about far off places, magic, and mystery!

If it wasn’t obvious yet, I’m a pizza lover!

The idea for Pizza & Pigtails actually came about due to the fact that I used to have a futon bunk bed that I turned into a fort - this was like 4 years ago, so I was totally an adult at the time. I wear my hair in pigtails quite a bit, and well, I eat A LOT of pizza! I like to travel around to different places trying out and reviewing. The pigtails side came about as I wear my hair in pigtails and it’s my way to incorporate other aspects of life such as travels, theme parks, restaurants that aren’t pizza focused, and just life into my writing.

Fact #4 - I’m Multi-Talented.

I’m one of those people who likes to learn all aspects of everything I do. I’m a singer, a writer, a dancer, I can hold a spoon on my nose for quite some time - I have many photos of me doing this, by the way - I’m an actor, I play the ukulele - still learning, but I’m getting better - I’m a marketer, learning editing and producing, etc…etc…

This is in no way me bragging, but I take pride in the hard work I put into everything, and I feel others should also!

I guess I’m what the “cool” kids call a nerd - Even though, now everything I have always been laughed at and called a nerd for is the cool thing to like…so, I guess I’m getting the last laugh?

There are so many fandoms that I have a high interest in - from DC to Marvel, Harry Potter, Disney, Star Wars, Star Trek, Game of Thrones, The Mortal Instruments, comic books, The Twilight Zone, Unsolved Mysteries, and more!

It’s fun to lose yourself in other worlds, and having a wide range of worlds to get lost in is the best!

I guess it’s only right to follow up on the nerd fact with the cosplay fact.

I love cosplay, I love dressing up, I love taking on and becoming a different person for a little while, and cosplay allows me to do that - just another part of the performing side of me coming out, I guess. I love Harley Quinn, so she’s my most cosplayed character thus far with I believe three or four different costumes. I have also cosplayed Catwoman (1960s Julie Newmar), and Black Widow.

I’m rebuilding my life.

After a divorce that left me with basically nothing, I have spent the last 6.5 years rebuilding…I know that seems like a long time, but I refuse to stop growing, I will always keep progressing, keep moving forward, and it’s definitely tough to build yourself up from the ground up. You definitely find out who your friends are when you’re going through a tough time, and needless to say, I lost a lot of people I thought were my friends and would always be there for me, but in the end, I realized I don’t want anyone around who doesn’t want to be around.

Here’s to moving on to bigger and better things!

So this one is a little on the silly side…but I’m addicted to SnapChat filters!

I love the bunnies, I love the pizza, the hearts, the silly, the crazy, the fun…I don’t even use SnapChat to send photos, I take pictures with the filters, then upload them to my other social media channels. This one is one of my favorites ever!

Along with being a writer - I am a reader.

I honestly feel these two go hand in hand. Most of the time, the love for writing comes from a love of reading. That spark of inspiration hits when you’re in the middle of a great book, and you get an idea that just takes you on your own side quest story…most writers are also well read.

I’m a huge Harry Potter nut - as I’m sure you can see from my Butterbeer mustache above. Other works that I love are anything by Edgar Allan Poe - I own his complete works - The Mortal Instruments, various comic books, Stephen King is another of my favorite authors - his Nightmares & Dreamscapes is actually what got me into writing - I also love history and anything true crime!

Last and certainly not least…I’m a Horror genre FANATIC!

I love anything horror, mostly psychological thrillers…I feel those are scarier than blood and gore. Something that can happen in real life, the movies and books that make you take that second glance over your shoulder when walking at night, double check the locks on the windows and doors…stories like that…

I love IT, I love Sleepy Hollow, true crime - as mentioned above - ghost stories, real stories, fiction…ALL. OF. THE. HORROR.
