Lazy Moon

So, in true Cassi fashion, I didn’t back up and save a copy of the original blog post when I originally posted it…go me!
Lazy Moon has two locations, I have only been to the one on Colonial in Downtown Orlando, so I can only post my opinions about this location.
As you can see, Lazy Moon Pizza is open Sunday - Thursday from 11 am - 12 am, and Friday/Saturday 11 am - 2:30 am. Since I am re-posting this during the Covid Virus pandemic, those hours could possibly be different, so I would Google or call to check.
Located at 1101 E. Colonial Drive, in the Mills District of Downtown Orlando, Lazy Moon offers a very wide variety of pizza (by the slice or full pies - I recommend going with the slice unless you’re really hungry or feeding an army), soups, salads, calzones, cheese bread, and more! Slices starting at just $4.85 with toppings costing an extra $.85 each.
They also offer a variety of beer, wine, and craft cocktails.
I would like to take a moment to talk about the decor here, as it’s all retro and vintage photos of life before…well, some of our time…I can’t speak for everyone reading this, you get the point.
When I heard that Lazy Moon had slices “bigger than my head”, I had to check it out and see for myself - Now, honestly, I don’t have a large head by any means, but I was still intrigued.
I was also, not disappointed…with full pies coming in at 20” and 30”, you can only imagine the size of the slices. Normally when I visit other pizza by the slice restaurants, I’ll order two, not here…as I can barely finish one!
No tricks being played here, that is a full on 10” dinner plate, with the slice of pizza sitting on top. - They really are that big!
I usually shoot for the pepperoni, and sometimes I’ll do extra cheese, but just a warning for those faint of heart, you must really LOVE cheese if you want extra here, because they don’t hold back…no skimping…it’s a beautiful slice of art.
The blend of flavors is also delicious, the sauce isn’t sweet where as some places it can get be a little sweeter than I tend to enjoy, the pepperoni is always robust, fresh, and full of life as well!
Baked to perfection, and always steaming hot when it hits the table.
The staff here is super awesome, from the moment you walk in, order at the counter, and grab your seat while you impatiently wait for your pizza…
Good thing I stretched before having to make this reach!
They also have Bocce Ball tournaments - When there isn’t a pandemic, that is -
I will say that Lazy Moon is one of my favorites in the area, it’s a good vibe, awesome crowd, and delicious pizza!
When the pizza box is half your size…literally! And yes, they customize each box with hand drawn designs!
I give Lazy Moon 7/8 stars!
