Papagallo’s

Decided to take a trip to Cocoa Beach this past weekend to get away from the hustle and bustle of life.
Friday afternoon, we finally crawled out from our hotel room in search of a spot to have lunch. Naturally when asked what I wanted, I voted for pizza!
A quick Google search found quite a few pizza places in the area, and as my lunch partner read them off, the one that jumped out at me was Pappagallo’s.
Located not too far from our hotel, at 1769 N Hwy A1A in Satellite Beach, Florida, we were on the way!
Pappagallo’s is open 7 days a week, 11:00 - 9:30 Sun-Thurs and 11:00 - 10:00 Friday and Saturday. They offer Dine-In, Carryout, and Delivery.
Now, you know me, I’m super honest…when my lunch partner and I first arrived, I was a little on the fence about eating here. The full front window painting was slightly off putting. Great artwork, very eye catching, but for a restaurant, it seemed a little out of place. Walking in, my mind was put at ease. The inside of the restaurant is very open, welcoming, and gives off that laid back, easy going vibe you would expect from a beach restaurant.
*Also, not my photo. There were guests dining inside, and I never know how they will react to me taking their photo*
You walk in to the main dining area that includes indoor and outdoor seating along with full indoor and outdoor bars, with beach access! We picked the perfect time to visit, as it wasn’t too busy. We’re pretty good at timing to beat the lunch rush. A server told us we could sit anywhere we’d like. I’m sure when the lunch and dinner rush hits, a hostess will seat you so don’t worry about having to throw fisticuffs up for a table - unless that’s your thing, to each their own.
We chose a booth along the side wall, I like to have a good view of the full restaurant when I do my reviews, so I can take notes on the different aspects. One of my favorite notes about this place is that the walls are lined with artwork from local artists that are actually for sale. I absolutely love when restaurants support their community and the local arts. It is always nice to see!
Our server was quick, we hadn’t even had our butts to the seat before she came over to the table, offered us menus, took our drink order, and gave us a moment to check out the goodies!
Pappagallo’s offers something for everyone. With a wide selection of appetizers, soups, salads, pizza, strombolis, calzones, and dessert. There were so many items looked and sounded amazing and the prices aren’t bad either.
With their 10” Create Your Own Individual pizza at starting just $6.99, and their Specialty pizzas starting at $9.99, you can’t go wrong with this combination!
After looking over all of my options I, of course, opted for the pizza - Why else would I be here? I went with an individual pepperoni while my lunch partner decided on the Chicken Parm sandwich and fries.
*Yay! I actually took these!*
I will say, I always have a love/hate relationship with pizza places that put a lot of pepperoni on their pizza. I love it because I love pepperoni, give me all that you want to, but it does make the pizza on the greasier side. I know…it’s pizza, it’s supposed to be greasy, but I’m not a fan of it running down my arm.
That being said, the pizza here is DELICIOUS! It was definitely one of those moments where I dug in, but then forced myself to slow down because I didn’t want the yummy to end. They really have the dynamics of pizza down at Pappagallo’s. The crust was perfectly seasoned and baked to a nice golden brown with a nice chew, and a slight crispy factor. The sauce isn’t overpowering, has a great bite to it without being too sweet - which as you have seen is also an issue I have run into in my pizza journeys. The cheese was perfectly distributed, not too scarce, and there weren’t any spots where there was none. The quality of the ingredients are top notch, which really comes across in the flavor of the pizza.
The chicken parm sandwich was also delicious, with its mound of cheese and sauce! I will say the bread was a little crispier than I like, but other than that, also delicious!
I give Pappagallo’s 8/8 slices!
About halfway through our lunch, my lunch partner took a trip to the bathroom. I almost started to worry because he was gone for quite a while. When he came back, he explained to me there is a game in the Men’s room that starts up when you step up to the urinal, you are a racecar driver, steering with your stream…don’t get excited Ladies, nothing like this for us in our bathroom, just a sign that asks you not to wash your feet or hair in the sink.
If you’re an early riser, check out their brunch menu Friday - Sunday!
Don’t forget to check out Pappagallos before you visit for fun ways to earn free desserts!
