Winter Garden Pizza Co.

So, this is going to be a little bit of a different post, a two-parter so to speak.
The first visit I took to Winter Garden Pizza Company was in August of 2019; however, I never wrote and posted a blog about my trip.

Let’s take a trip back in time, shall we?

It was lunch time, a nice and warm Florida Summer day in 2019. A trip to Downtown Winter Garden to walk the strip, which I love doing was in order. Feeling a bit peckish and wanting to try this place out, we stopped in.

Located at 42 Plant Street in Winter Garden, Florida - they are open Sunday - Thursday 11:00 am - 9:00 pm, Friday & Saturday until 10:00 pm.

I will always point out that I love vintage artwork!

Couple of things - at this time, Winter Garden Pizza Co. was under different ownership and they offered a salad bar - this is not the case anymore - they had it removed completely.
They also offered Coca-Cola products, they now offer Pepsi (meh).
Just a heads up, the menu has not been updated - we tried to order the mozzarella bites - they don’t have these anymore either, and they no longer have pizza by the slice during dinner time - only until 4:00.

The photo above is of the pizza-by-the-slice I had during our first visit. Although, not the greatest I have had, it was pretty good.
The toppings were plentiful, the flavors were well balanced, but it was still a tad dough-y, it could have gone a little longer in the oven - in my opinion - and the sauce was a little on the sweeter side…which I prefer it to be more savory.

This is the chicken parmigiana sandwich from 2019 - in just a moment, you’ll see the photo of the same sandwich from 2020.

My lunch partner enjoyed the sandwich for the most part, once again, mostly great, but a couple of little things here and there - it definitely needed more sauce.

The staff was friendly and welcoming, but I feel that things took a little longer than they should have considering there weren’t many people in the restaurant.

Okay…now fast forward to November 2020.

Now under new ownership - I have to say, I do like their personality.

To touch back on some points made above: the menu has not been updated, they switched from Coca-Cola to Pepsi, they no longer have the mozzarella bites or the salad bar, nor do they offer pizza by the slice after 4 pm.

This is the 10” Pepperoni pizza…I didn’t really notice much of a difference in flavor from the slices I had before, so if they changed anything with the recipe, it’s not noticeable.

Chicken Parmesan Sandwich - Take Two, also doesn’t seem like it was really changed in any way…still needs more sauce.

I’m not the biggest fan of giving negative feedback…and don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that any of the food was bad, except the Pepsi, but I do think there is room to improve.

All in all, I’d give Winter Garden Pizza Co. 5/8 slices.
